What changed in each version of Typo Finder. Updates arrive through the aescripts + aeplugins manager app.

Version 1.0 Latest

  • The first full release of Typo Finder, available on aescripts + aeplugins.
  • Includes everything from the earlier versions below.

Version 0.6

  • A clearer About window that lists what Typo Finder checks.
  • Credits for the open-source word data, in a licenses folder inside the download.
  • Shorter notes when you add an AI Proofread key.
  • The status line shows how many words are loaded when the panel opens.

Version 0.5

  • Company names are no longer in the built-in dictionary. Add your clients once with Add to Dictionary or a Brand Kit.

Version 0.4

  • Accented words like café, résumé and José are read as whole words instead of being split and flagged.
  • Unknown accented words are also checked without the accent, so café matches cafe.
  • Typos in accented capitals (CAFÉ) are no longer skipped.
  • Brand Kit terms with accents work too.

Version 0.3

  • Windows: folders with a % in the name (like “50% Off”) no longer stop the dictionary loading.
  • Exported Brand Kits always save as .json, so Import finds them.

Version 0.2

  • Bigger dictionary: 293,281 words, adding first names, world cities and regions, and marketing and tech words like upskill and screengrab.
  • New words are checked against common typos before they’re added, so real mistakes still get flagged.
  • The spelling menu reads “US spelling (Flag UK)” and “UK-AU spelling (Flag US)”, so it’s clear which one gets flagged.

Version 0.1

  • First release as Typo Finder.
  • Checks spelling, repeated words, spacing, stray capitals, US or UK-AU spelling, Brand Kits and missing fonts, with AI Proofread through Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or any AI chat.
